It’s 2011 and we’re in Rome. The government is on the verge of collapse, the Vatican is at crisis point and the city’s squares are quite literally on fire. In the middle world, Cinaglia (Filippo Nigro) has tried to pick up where Samurai left off and, together with Badali (Emmanuele Aita), he is still managing the city’s criminal affairs, with the help of Adelaide (Paola Sotgiu)...。Tom Powers（詹姆斯·卡格尼 James Cagney 饰）和他的好友Matt Doyle（Edward Woods 饰）从小就在一起厮混，喜欢做些小偷小摸的事情，为此Tom没少挨他哥哥Mike（Donald Cook 饰）的骂，然而Tom死性不改。Tom和Matt两人还结识了Putty Nose（Murray Kinnell 饰），一个帮派成员。两人长大了一些之后，在Putty Nose的怂恿下，两人和另外一个少年一起去一个商店盗窃，却因Putty Nose的出卖，两人险些被捕，另外一个少年则丧门。两人于是转而投靠Paddy Ryan，那时候美国禁酒令开始实行，两人和Paddy做起私酒生意，混得风生水起，还认识了一个帮派头目"Nails" Nathan。后来一战爆发，Mike参军，临走前试图劝Tom退出帮派，Tom没有听。等到Mike退役回...。少小离乡老大回，回头已是百年身，一群日本战后遗孤在中国的成长故事，面对异域浮生，他们的身份成为他们沉重的包袱。 1945年日本战败，日本政府只接走所有军人，一群日本裔老弱孤儿被迫遗留在中国东北，他们在苦难中成长，与中国人结婚，生儿育女。 中日建交后，他们怀着兴奋心情回乡，但却人情淡薄，而换回种种失望。 摄影队深入中国东北及日本各地，实地拍摄，追访遗孤家庭，在访问中穿插的实况戏剧中，将一段段人性历史重现眼前。。
